During the mining and excavation process of mineral resources,it is inevitable to cause damage and pollution to the ecological environment and geological landscape of the mine. With the continu⁃ ous deepening of green mining construction and sustainable development concepts,it is urgent to carry out ecological restoration of abandoned mines that have been mined. In order to provide some reference for mine restoration and research work, the current research status of mine restoration has been summarized. This ar⁃ ticle summarizes the various impacts of abandoned mines on the environment, including terrain and land⁃ scape damage, land resource damage, aquifer damage, and geological disasters. It is pointed out that evalu⁃ ating the environmental impact, geological hazard risk, soil and groundwater pollution risk of mines before and after mining is an indispensable step. Finally,in response to the multifaceted impact of mines on the en⁃ vironment, two directions for mine restoration were introduced: restoring the ecological environment after mining and restoring mine stability.
