In order to support the demand for mineral raw materials in China's refined high-end alkali industry,deep drilling and surface trenching were carried out in Caoxi mining area to find out the character⁃ istics and spatial distribution of limestone ore bodies for alkali production in the mining area,so as to ana⁃ lyze the genesis of the deposit. By analyzing the exploration results,it is found that the deposit belongs to a stable sedimentary chemical carbonate deposit. The sedimentary environment is in a low-alkali and low-en⁃ ergy shallow open platform environment. The ore-bearing structure is a gentle syncline. The shape and spa⁃ tial distribution of the ore body are distributed with the lower Permian Maping Formation. The high-quality ore is mainly gray thick layered microcrystalline limestone and bioclastic limestone. The petrological charac⁃ teristics are taken as the primary prospecting elements,and the Maping Formation is used as the main pros⁃ pecting marker layer to provide guidance for the prospecting in the Caoxi-Panling area.
