Abstract: Contraflow sand washer is a new type of sand washing equipment developed based on the separation principle of fluidized bed. It operates the separation of mud and sand via the principle of interfered settling. In order to promote the popularization and application of the equipment, on the basis of introducing the equipment structure, working principle and superiority, field testing and operation cost analysis are carried out. The results showed that compared with the traditional wheel sand washer and spiral sand washer, the contraflow sand washer not only has higher cleanliness of sand washing, and the mud content is less than 3% in sand product, which meets the national standard of Class II, but significantly reduced operating costs under the working condition of high mud content, and it has the advantages of simple structure, high automation and convenient installation. This equipment can be used in manufactured-sand production, natural sand desliming and construction waste recovery. It is an advanced equipment for sand and stone washing in the field of wet sand.
