Experimental Study on Beneficiation of a Phosphate Ore in Western Sichuan

The P2O5 grade of a phosphate rock in Western Sichuan is 19.34%, and the main gangue
minerals are carbonate and silicate minerals. The comparative exploration test of direct flotation-reverse flo⁃
tation and single reverse flotation shows that the phosphorus recovery rate of phosphate concentrate obtained
by single reverse flotation process is much higher than that of direct flotation-reverse flotation, and the sin⁃
gle reverse flotation process is simple and operable. On this basis, the followed reverse flotation condition
test shows that: with sulfuric acid as pH regulator, phosphoric acid as inhibitor, WF-01 as collecting agent,
through one roughing two cleaning two scavenging reverse flotation, a phosphate concentrate with yield of
51.25%, P2O5 grade of 30.67% and recovery of 81.28% can be obtained. The test results can provide a refer⁃
ence for the separation of a large number of medium and low grade phosphate rocks of the same type in this
area.
