Abstract: Slope instability is one of the geological disasters that often occur in open-pit mines, which seriously affects the safety of mine production. The stability evaluation of open-pit mine slope is helpful to prevent the occurrence of slope disasters. For the slope of an open-pit iron mine in Yunnan,a typical slope profile is selected, and the sliding safety factor is calculated by using the Swedish slice meth⁃ od in Lizheng software. The safety factor and the position of the most dangerous sliding surface of the select⁃ ed typical slope profile under normal, flood and special conditions are obtained, and then the stability of the stope slope is analyzed. The results show that all slope profiles under normal working conditions are in the safe and stable range; For the slope profile under special working conditions, only the highest steep slope profile A—A is unstable. In general, the slope is generally stable, but there is still possibility of land⁃ slide in some parts.
