Abstract: In order to improve the development and utilization rate of carbon-containing gold ore，in view of the difficulty of separation of carbon and gold in this type of gold ore and the problems of "gold rob⁃ bery" in the leaching process，the types of carbon and its "gold robbery" mechanism were discussed. The research status of flotation，shielding-cyanide gold extraction，roasting oxidation，chemical oxidation，bio⁃ logical oxidation，high temperature and high pressure oxidation pretreatment process was described. The grade of gold concentrate is low，the selectivity of shielding agent and biological oxidation bacteria in shielding-cyanidation is strong，the application is limited，and the chemical oxidation pollution is serious. Based on the development and application of high temperature and high pressure energy-saving equip⁃ ment，roasting and high temperature and high pressure oxidation pretreatment will be the development direction of carbon-containing gold ore process，and the application of the two processes is listed.
