Abstract: In order to improve the soil quality of purple sandstone mining area，promote the restora⁃ tion of ecological function and realize the sustainable utilization of land，the compound degradation prob⁃ lems of soil in this area，such as intensified acidification，high content of conglomerate debris，structural deterioration，imbalance of nutrient cycle and potential pollution of heavy metals caused by parent material characteristics and mining disturbance，are systematically reviewed. The mechanism and research progress of soil degradation and improvement technology in purple sandstone mining area are emphatically ana⁃ lyzed，and the application effect of technology integration is evaluated with typical cases.It is found that the current research focusing on the soil of purple sandstone mining area still has shortcomings in technical precision adaptability，long-term stability monitoring and intelligent management. In the future，it is nec⁃ essary to strengthen the long-term positioning test and mechanism research，promote the integration of in⁃ telligent technology，and expand the green and low-cost improvement path.
