Abstract: Maohedong Flux Limestone Mine is located in Wanggao Town，Pinggui District，Hezhou City，which is a large-scale black metallurgical flux limestone deposit. In order to study the geological char⁃ acteristics and genesis of the deposit，detailed geological exploration work is carried out on the deposit. By analyzing the metallogenic geological conditions of the deposit，the geological characteristics of the ore body and the characteristics of the sedimentary environment，a total of one flux limestone ore body is circled in the mining area. The ore body is a single ore layer with a large scale. The CaO grade of the beneficial compo⁃ nent of the ore is 53.35 % ~ 55.53 %. The distribution is uniform and the quality is stable，which meets the requirements of limestone for non-ferrous metallurgical flux. The ore body occurs in the first member of the Upper Devonian Rongxian Formation and the Guilin Formation. The lithology are mainly dark gray bioclastic limestone，banded limestone，gray microcrystalline limestone，and light gray marbleized limestone. It is a sedimentary deposit of carbonate rock formation in a shallow sea restricted-open platform. It is formed in the Variscan metallogenic period and belongs to a biochemical sedimentary deposit.
