Research Status and Development Trend of the Waste Dump in Open-pit Mine

Abstract: The open-pit mine dump is a place where the mining waste of open-pit mine is concentrat⁃ ed. The research on the stability of the dump and disaster prevention and control is not only related to the safe production and economic benefits of the mine,but also has an important impact on ecological protec⁃ tion,people's livelihood safety and social stability. By using the methods of literature retrieval analysis, summary and trend prediction,this paper studies the open-pit mine dump from three aspects : research sta⁃ tus,main problems and countermeasures,development trend and prospect. The results show that the stabili⁃ ty of the dump is mainly affected by the mechanical properties of granular materials,base strength,stacking parameters and water. The stability analysis methods of the dump mainly include limit equilibrium method and numerical simulation method. The disaster prevention and control of the dump is mainly reflected in three aspects : water source drainage,optimization of dumping process and construction of retaining struc⁃ ture. Reclamation mode,soil properties of reclamation area and types of reclaimed vegetation are also the fo⁃ cus of current dump research. The stability of the dump is mainly affected by the mechanical properties of granular materials,base strength,stacking parameters and water. There are some main problems in the study of open-pit mine dump slope,such as the inconsistency between the simulation results and the actual situation,the stability of ultra-high bench and soft basement dumping,and the lag of environmental protec⁃ tion. A research method of dump deformation based on the dynamic change of particle force chain network is proposed. The development trend of waste dump is mainly reflected in the joint stacking of waste dump and tailings pond,large-scale waste dump equipment,intelligent monitoring equipment and comprehensive uti⁃ lization of waste rock. The above results can provide reference and guidance for the development of mine dumping engineering.
