Mechanism of Influence of Magnetization Time on Galena Floatability Enhanced by Ammonium Dibutyl Dithiophosphate

Surface tension,infrared spectrum and contact angle are used to characterize the galena
samples to clarify the enhancing mechanism of magnetization time on the galena flotation,with collectoram⁃
monium dibutyl dithiophosphatepre-magnetized by alternating magnetic field. The flotation results show that
the floatability of galena could be significantly improved by magnetizing ammonium dibutyl dithiophosphate
with alternating magnetic field. Compared with unmagnetized ammonium dibutyl dithiophosphate,the recov⁃
ery rate of galena increases 13.04 percentage points when the magnetization time is 10 min,current frequen⁃
cy is 1.5 MHz and the number of turns is 100 N. After pre-magnetized treatment,the surface tension of am⁃
monium dibutyl dithiophosphate is reduced by 10.95 mN/m,and the relative ratio of N-H bond in ammoni⁃
um dibutyl dithiophosphate is increased by 2.36%,which enhances the foaming ability of ammonium dibu⁃
tyl dithiophosphate. In addition,the contact angle of the galena samples increases 13.89°,indicating that
the magnetization pretreatment can strengthen the interaction degree of ammonium dibutyl dithiophosphate
with galena, thus improving the flotation efficiency of galena.
