Resource Utilization Status of Magnesium Element in Electric Furnace Nickel-Iron Slag

Abstract: In order to reduce the waste of magnesium resources and realize the large-scale utilization of ferronickel slag,aiming at the problem of magnesium resource utilization in ferronickel slag of electric furnace,the process status of magnesium resource utilization in ferronickel slag of electric furnace by three methods of high temperature reduction,leaching and roasting leaching was reviewed. The results show that the reaction temperature can be reduced by vacuum in the high temperature reduction method. The addition of CaO and other additives can effectively improve the reduction rate of magnesium. The use of silicon as a reducing agent is better than other reducing agents. Using the method of leaching and roasting leaching, the reaction can be carried out at a lower temperature,but because the slag carries the leaching solution, there is a problem of limited slag discharge and storage. The study provides a useful reference for the resource utilization of magnesium in ferronickel slag.
