Abstract: The drop hammer and rotating crusher have been widely used in the selection and calcula⁃ tion field of autogenous and semi-autogenous grinding mill at home and abroad. However,narrow size frac⁃ tion feeding has been adopted for breakage characterization test for the above two kinds of methods,which is with high cost,low efficiency,heavy workload and long working cycle. These shortcomings come out more obviously when dealing with substantial ore samples. In order to obtain the characteristic data quickly and accurately in the test,some scholars put forward a new method of rapid feeding test with new wide grain size. Compared with the traditional test and characterization technology,the new method is economi⁃ cal,efficient,simple and significantly reduces the test cost and time. For the traditional narrow graded bro⁃ ken characterization testing methods and new wide graded quickly feeding test method,the test process, data processing algorithm and based on a mathematical model of broken is summarized. Based on this,the reliability of the test process and test result for the new and old methods were compared and evaluated. It is pointed out that the wide graded broken characterization results differ with traditional characterization re⁃ sults only plus or minus one standard deviation. Therefore,the new method is an effective method to quick⁃ ly characterize the breakage properties of ore.
