Abstract: The stability of four openpit slopes with different heights in Kangding Jiajika Spodumene Mine was studied. On the basis of conducting onsite geological surveys, dividing the slope geology into rock groups and summarizing the failure modes of each zone, limit equilibrium method, twodimensional finite element numerical simulation analysis and strength reduction method are used to analyze the stability of the design slope of the openpit mine.Under three working conditions, the limit equilibrium analysis method is used to analyze the stability of two sections and three slope stability zones, and it is found that the stability meets the allowable safety factor.Using the twodimensional finite element numerical simulation method,it is found that the safety factor calculated by the strength reduction method is similar to the result of the limit equilibrium analysis method, and the obtained slope slip mode is also consistent, which proves that the result of the limit equilibrium analysis is reliable. The final boundary slope of the open pit of Jiajika Spodumene Mine under design is overall stable, and the step slope angle is reasonable.
