Geological Characteristics and Genesis of Shitoutan Copper Deposit in Hengyang Basin

Abstract: Shitoutan copper deposit is located in the middle part of qinhang metallogenic structural belt,It belongs to the southern margin of Hengyang Basin.The metallogenic conditions in this area are superior,Because there are many large and mediumsized copper deposits along the periphery of Hengyang basin.In order to provide guidance for the exploration of copper deposits in Hengyang basin,the regional geological background and geological characteristics of the deposits are studied and analyzed.It is concluded that the copper deposits occur in the fading sandstone of the shenhuangshan formation of Cretaceous system.it is favorable to form highgrade copper ore bodies When the interlayer fracture zone develops.It indicates that the ore deposits are of deepseated materials or related to the brine of the basin,which belongs to stratabound lowtemperature hydrothermal sandstone Type copper deposits.
