Abstract: Based on the actual pellet production process of Ezhou Pellet Co.，Ltd.，the influence of hematite concentrate proportion on pellet production process was studied. The results showed that the proportion of hematite concentrate has an important effect on the temperature and pressure of grate，rotary kiln and ring cooler，as well as the yield and quality of product. When the proportion of hematite concentrate is 40%， temperature in the rotary kiln head and furnace cover of ring cooler both are the lowest. Also，the PH section of the grate has the lowest negative pressure，the output of pellet production can reach 630 t/h，and the average compressive strength is 2 687 N/piece. With the increase of the proportion of hematite concentrate，the consumption of coal gradually increased. When the proportion of hematite concentrate is greater than 40%， the system has a remarkable reheating effect，which is more conducive to saving fuel consumption.
