Abstract: In order to efficiently utilize a lithium-bearing kaolin(porcelain stone)ore resource in Ji’ an, Jiangxi Province, the process mineralogy characteristics are systematically studied by means of chemi⁃ cal analysis, phase analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis and automatic quantitative analysis of mineral pa⁃ rameters. The results show that the main chemical compositions of the ore are SiO2 (73.93%), Al2O3 (15.05%)and Li2O(0.32%). The mineral compositions are mainly quartz(36%), plagioclase(25%), Kfeldspar(20%)and muscovite(16%).The lithium mica/lithium muscovite is flaky and scaly, and the main slice diameter is 0.10~1.20 mm. The particle size distribution is mainly medium and fine particles, which is closely related to the dissemination of feldspar and quartz. Lithium mainly occurs in muscovite (distribu⁃ tion rate is 81.87%), and rubidium is mainly distributed in muscovite and feldspar. The effective dissocia⁃ tion and desliming of lithium mica, feldspar and quartz is the key to the efficient utilization of the ore, which can provide a theoretical basis for the beneficiation recovery and comprehensive utilization of similar ores.
