Abstract: In the process of roadway excavation in metal mines, the hidden geological anomalies in front are easy to cause accidents,so it is necessary to detect the roadway excavation face in advance. The geological radar with an antenna frequency of 100 MHz was used to detect the front of the roadway excavation in Makeng Iron Mine. The advanced detection data of the geological radar were collected and analyzed to explore the geological anomaly in front of the excavation, and the analysis results were verified by actual excavation. The results show that the geological radar advanced detection technology has high prediction accuracy in metal mines and is sensitive to water-bearing structures, which can provide effective technical support for roadway excavation.
