Abstract: There is 55.88% Fe in a refractory iron ore.Valuable iron minerals mainly exist in the form of hematite and limonite, and gangue minerals are quartz and gibbsite. An innovative technological process consisting of magnetic roasting and magnetic separation was applied to verify the feasibility for treating the ore.The experiment results showed iron concentrate with Fe grade of 63.56% and Fe recovery of 97.18% was obtained under the conditions of raw ore directly drying and scattered(-0.074mm accounted for 53.41%),reduction temperature 540 ℃,concentration of carbon monoxide 40% roasted for 25 min,the roasted product ground to -0.1 mm with magnetic field intensity of 56.7 kA/m.This technological process provide basis for the efficient utilization of refractory hematite limonite.
